Rules Schmules

Just another day living the dream!
You know ... hanging out with the boy at a new gym place.

But then on the way out the parents were given a copy of the rules of the gym.

New Things

Somehow I neglected to teach my children how to start the dishwasher.
Until now. Now they know.

And M is away; poor guy.

Phone Pictures

Found some good pics on my phone today.
Nothing better than a mid-day cuddle.
"Go stand by Ern", I said. Guess I should have been clear I was expecting him to face the camera. Goof.

After dinner and a game of Racko Ern joined me at Charlie's training class.
Good job Charlie.
These are from the Potluck lunch we had at church a couple of weeks ago.

Why the cowboy hat?
I was trying to represent Alberta.

School Pics

This year's school pictures for E have already arrived but I still haven't taken A's picture.
So far .... this is what I've got.

This is just a gratuitous shot of the big kid.

Monday's Here

This weekend was A's first hockey tournament.

You can tell by the bags under my eyes that there was at least one early game.
He played really well and was happy to have family in the stands.
And then there's these two .... Lol!
When I was younger, the mom of my best friend used to call us Tweedle Dumb and Tweedle Dumber.
I don't know what just made me think of that .... haha.

1-2 Punch

E has taken up a new activity.
He gets an amazing workout at the training sessions and the coaches are over and above friendly.
After she taped his hands today she was teaching him the 'Boxing Pose'.
To do a science experiment first you have to gather your supplies
(including a camera to document the awesomeness).
Then you have to follow the instructions, cross your fingers and hold your breath.
Because for some reason ..... a LOT of the experiments do not come off as expected.
It's kind of like when you see that fancy cake on a Pinterest page and think,
"I can do that". How often  does your final result resemble the first picture?
Those are pretty much the same odds for home science experiments.
Shockingly, this one worked just as it was supposed to.
Titrating ammonia into a solution of vinegar and cabbage juice dye he was able to see when the solution changed from mostly acidic to mostly basic.

Hard Pill to Swallow

It would appear from this picture that E is being helpful while I shop for yarn.
Wrong!!
He was being a pill; throwing yarn, causing a ruckus, and teasing me about colour choices.
Here's the other little pill.
Sometimes I feel like he's not taking the whole 'school time' thing as seriously as I am.

Fall Walk

A great thing about this time of year are the walks.

We started a unit of Acids and Bases and did an experiment using boiled cabbage as a pH indicator.

Eye Did It

At first, he was adamant he would not be participating.
Then, he said he'd watch.
But in the end, curiosity got the better of him and he joined in.
The dissection of a cow eyeball. Very cool.
This picture was taken while he was trying to work up the courage to touch it for the first time.
