Today
While E was working on a letter to his penpal A asked if he could do the dishes. (He did a great job.)

And then these two silly people showed up for dinner.

He Took Me To Paradise in Coach
As I sit here to write about our weekend I can't even believe what all we did in the last four days.
On Friday we went and saw the Annapolis Boat Show. Alas, there are no pics because I forgot the camera in the van. http://www.usboat.com/us_sailboat_show.php After the show we proceeded on to Harrisburg to check into the hotel.
This trip was marvelously planned by our good friends the GldnArchs, names have been changed to protect the innocent ;)

After checking out all the trains we stopped for lunch.

Then we took a train ride on the Strausburg Railroad all the way to Paradise, PA. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paradise,_Pennsylvania

One of the nine of us took this as an opportunity to rest. Here's the pack of kids.

Having worked up an appetite we made for a restaurant. Yum Yum....OlveGrdn.

One of us seemed slow to start his Day #2 Here they are planning something.
Our group skipped church and went to the Indian Echo Caverns. While waiting for our tour to start there were some shenanigans. http://www.indianechocaverns.com/

It's amazing to see what can be tucked away under the earth. Slowly over millions of years taking shape.
Then after a bite to eat we met up again with our friends the GldnArchs to visit Hershey's Chocolate World. Check out the Hersheykiss light standards. http://www.hersheys.com/chocolateworld/
The smell of chocolate was so strong and delicious. Notice the crazed excitement in the kid's eyes.
This is where you should see pics of all the boys (there were five of them) going to a hockey game. Except the camera was forgotten in the van. And you can't see pictures of the girls (there were four of us) hanging out at the hotel because we gave the cameras to the boys. You'll have to trust me that it was fun.
Then this morning after a quick bite to eat and a swim....everybody had to go home. But as E said, "It's kind of good to live far from our friends because if we lived close we would have had a normal playdate and this was really fun."

New Set

Wednesday
The boys put their money together and bought a new LEGO set today. Here they are in the backseat figuring out how to allocate each of the pieces amongst the two of them. They have been saving their allowance and I told them they could have the money raised by selling some toys that they don't use anymore. (It made it a lot easier for them to say good-bye to a couple of older toys.)
While I was putting 850 pieces of LEGO together this afternoon they took breaks from helping me and played together. They get along so well.

We are making globes in our unit study of Columbus. (Our study will culminate in a cruise to the Bahamas--one of the places Columbus landed during his attempts to find passage to India.)
FYI-the cruise was planned before the unit was
