I Try Not to Make It All About Hockey

There's a fantastic group of really committed ladies that coordinate activities for one of A's groups.
Week 3 of the Greek Unit the kids had a feast!

Three Hockey Tournaments on three consecutive weekends, you'd think interest would start to wane.
But apparently not, still a big crowd turn out for the games.
Even the early morning ones....shudder.

Of course, when they're not at one of their hockey games/practices they have time to hit the outdoor rinks.

How much hockey you ask?
Well, in 32 days we have 29 hockey practices/games.
And, I'm sure there are people out there doing more hockey than us!!

What's With the Bird?

Sometimes, for no apparent reason, the bird decides to spend some time with the dog.
Funny little thing.

What's Fun?

Pools are fun.

Cousins on a lizard hunt are fun.

Luckily, CousinE is here to catch lots of lizards for them.

Christmas morning is fun.

Beaches are fun.

And photobombing your brother's picture is definitely fun.

Air and Space

It seems that A has outgrown some of his regular activities at the Air/Space Museum.
Luckily, there are still a lot of exhibits he's interested in.
After a week of visiting Charlie has decided to cautiously make nice.

New Space

I'm almost done the changes to the basement that were required when E moved his bedroom down there.
There's a new space for the boys to use now and they've quickly come to a decision as to its use.
Hockey Shots.
Using the step ladder as a 'goal'. More points for hitting the top bar.

And Now to Rest

Well done A.
Three boys with three medals.
Although the boys are in the same age group they are in different divisions so thankfully no family vs family games.
Way to go Cougars!
Brothers watching brothers play hockey.
Can you feel the Love?

BeingMe #2

Hello again!

I'm back. This time I'm going to chit chat a little bit about books first. I was thinking about them after Dena, those of you who don't know her, she is my mom's friend's mom, and she's awesome. She also makes amazing pie. Anyway, she said that when she was ten, she swore to read 5,000 books in her lifetime! That's not the craziest thing, she has already read 3,427 books! I have started documenting books that I have read on a website called Good Reads. I have only read 66 different books. But those are only books I remember reading and that isn't including how many times I've read them, I've read the Harry Potter series around 5 times. That's like 21,000 pages, I take a lot of pride in that. I know you guys are all wondering if I read Charlotte's Web, and I did. It really was a very good book and I enjoyed reading it. I was sad at the end, but I still enjoyed it.

This is an unrelated fact that I want to post. I got a hat trick! It was my first ever, but I've only played 1 year before this. Don't worry, there will be more hat tricks to come. I have now scored 10 goals in 7 games. YAY!

Okay, let's talk about Christmas. I am really excited because I get two Christmas dinners! I mean... spend time with two sides of the family. And that's not the only thing, I'm also going to Florida! That is why I'm getting two different dinners. One in Ottawa, the other in Florida. For the Florida dinner we are having alligator. Just kidding, I have to say that because with this family, you never know. For presents, I'm not really sure what I want. I haven't thought about it much. I will probably just end up asking for money. Christmas is my favorite holiday, followed by Thanksgiving, then my birthday. "How do I rank my holidays?" you ask. I mainly consider the amount and quality of the food I get at the family dinners, Christmas beats Thanksgiving because I also get gifts and the cookie exchange. Yes, I know, a very good rating plan.
That is all I have to say today.

The question of the blog is: What is your favorite holiday?

Lots Done

Big smile from this guy. He got his first ever hat trick in tonight's game.
And here he is, rocking a Science Vibe.
I took this picture on Saturday, otherwise known as, 'All Day Gym and Arena Day'.
Best part about the basement reno?
Taking E shopping at HDepot.
We had great weather for a work day ...
...super productive.

All this fresh air and sports ... makes a dog sleepy.
