Sailing Around

The boys are both quickly learning sailing skills.

'A' needed to cool off after all that line pulling.

It was such a nice day to be out on the water.

Just no reason to do anything but smile in the sunshine.

We're so fortunate to be having a few extra nice days before the Fall.

Locking It

We're taking every opportunity to enjoy this late bit of summer we've been gifted. 

Including .... canoeing.

This guy says it's definitely not as easy to manouver as a kayak. 

It looked pretty easy from my seat in the middle. 

After having seen the locks from shore so many times, we couldn't resist trying them ourselves. 

Army Run 2017

Pretty smiley faces for boys who had to get up early.

There's always a great energy downtown on Army Run weekend.

As a non-runner it was a great help to have the tracking app so I could be ready to take their pictures as they crossed the finish line.

Back to the Past

Take Me to Your Leader

This guy went on an overnight Leadership Camp with his school. 

The trip? Lots of fun. 

Having your mom snap your picture in the parking lot? Not so much fun. 

September means...

...back to school...

...back to the rink.

Mixed Bag of Summer

It's been a bit of a strange summer here.
There weren't many as many sunny days as there normally are; so much rain!
E passed me in height, and A is not far behind.

M made the move to Ktown for work so it's weekends only.

And, we realized our dream of getting a family boat.

I wonder what I'll think of this summer when I look back at it in a few years. 

Summer's End

M&I had a couple weekends to ourselves.

Now that the boys are home they need to get used to getting up early before school. 

One was happier about this than the other. 

Fight and Flight

Last Friday night E had another exhibition fight.

That's twice he's stepped in the ring and he definitely likes it.

 

We were all pretty tired the next morning when it was time to get them to the airport.

Off they went for a trip to Manitoba.

After dropping off the boys, and a little nap, M and I were off to Kngston for the weekend.
We did cleaning stations, no surprise there, and took care of a nasty wasp nest that we found under the back seats.

And, thanks to some friendly marina people who offered to accompany us, we got out for a sail.

Another Sail Day

The boat requires some effort so while one person is steering, the other people can rest.

Of course, there's no rest for a sailing dog. Always on guard.

Barefoots On a Boat

We were very fortunate to have the previous owner of the boat take us out today and teach us 1 or 2 things about sailing. 

So, that's 2 things down ..... and about 1,000 things left to learn. Haha.

To our great surprise the dog took to boating ... though he's been napping since we got home.
