Too Much Fun
We were treated to a fantastic tour of Station#5 in Arlngton today. The firemen were very patient and gave great information.
I could hear the kids gasp when we walked into the garage.
They did a great thing letting the kids see a fireman in full gear and touch his helmet and such. They wanted to encourage the kids to not be afraid if they were to see a fireman approach them during an emergency/fire situation.
There's no fear in these boy's eyes.
They even got to go into an ambulance.
Even I got in a photo today thanks to a friend who snapped my pic.
After the tour we went to a restaurant with some of the families who were with us on the tour.
15 kids plus 5 adults = a lot of pancakes and a lot of fun.

Never Say Never
Here's A with a picture he drew....and his inspiration for the picture.
The boys wanted to do something to help in Haiti so we are helping prepare emergency hygiene kits to be sent by the church.
Can you believe that I have this box of cereal in my house?? I can't. Here's how it happened.
When the kids picked this at the grocery store last week I launched into a great speech about how it was an unhealthy choice...and then I said....let me compare it with a much healthier choice such as.....rice krispies. So I grabbed the ricekrispie box and started to read aloud the nutritional info. from both. Ya.....there's almost no difference between the two. So now I have cookie cereal in my house....yuck. Next time....they don't get a choice.

On A Serious Note....and Also Not
On a serious note. For a little while now A has been expressing some frustration/sadness about his middle name. E is very proud(and tells everybody he meets) that he has the same middle name as his dad...and his dad....and his dad. This has A feeling like a second class son....SO...I told him that he was allowed to 'officially' change his name....and I made a certificate. Now A is very happy with his name and that he is the same kind of Baref**t as the other boys. To commemorate the moment I thought I would video him explaining the situation.
Yikes....talk about having trouble putting your thoughts together.
When I went back to rewatch it I was reminded of another video I once saw......
We are still tracking the Olympic Medals every morning. And we've started our mapping unit.
We talked about how many people(L_E_G_O in this case) arrived in Vancvr for the Olympics. And we discussed what the host city needed to have to accomodate them.
But all work and no play makes for a dull afternoon so before TKD and French we went for a treat with our neighbour/friends.

Mnday
The boys were tested this evening at TKD and they both passed. This Saturday they will receive their purple belts.
E's strange front tooth finally made an exit today. I bribed him into letting me pull it out. It took quite tug but it's out. The new tooth behind is already partly out.
This is A's new track outfit. We all think it makes him look like an Olympic athlete.

Weekend
I bought a Jr.Scrbble game a couple of weeks ago at the second hand store. The boys had a round yesterday.
We were out to get a baby gift for a neighbour (they had a boy) and my boys found these great jackets....and they were really discounted. ($10/each)
E's SundaySchool class had a bake sale for Haiti today.
And this is just a cute pic of the boys talking on the phone with their guineapigs to Nana.

Dance-Kwon-Do
I caught A dancing in the background during the boys TKD class tonight. I was thinking...silly little guy...and then....his instructor started dancing....boys will be boys.

Still snowed in...
Well, M has been off work all week and it is great. His only complaint is that he still has leave remaining and hasn't been able to get anyone to sign his pass...:)
Anyway, yesterday ddy had a chance to teach school. It was great. Then we went to the local play place and then played a game of "Letter Dice" in a restaurant until TKD started. The boys had a great time.
It began snowing again last night and there was blowing snow in the morning. Here are some pics.
