Our devotional this week involved emptying a tube of toothpaste. Then we discussed how words are like toothpaste, once you put them out there it's almost impossible to get them back.
This week's unit lessons are about Les Voyageurs. There is a pretty good video about them on the website of the National Film Board website.

WayCool
When we arrived at the Maryland Science Museum there was this great crazy scientist guy yelling, "Free Bubbles". The kids were instantly hooked.
Then we got to the front lobby area. There were so many cools hands-on things.
We had to take a little break for lunch but then we went back.
E's favourite hands-on was the laser harp. It made great music but there were no real strings only beams of light.
There was a great play room for kids aged 3-8. You could send messages in a tube overhead.
E was at the periscope.
Oh ya. And there was a water table with the coolest stuff.

Here's A and M returning the message.
One area had an underwater/submarine play area.
E was at the periscope.

Of course M wanted to make the tallest one he could.
When we left that area there was a great demonstration on static electricity. The boys went up to feel the static.

Weekend Catch Up
We heard that the WoodrwWilsnBridg was going to be lifted on Sat. morning for a tall boat passing through. And it was a tall boat.....but I was expecting something bigger.
Here we are waiting for the big moment.
There it goes.
And they're up.
This a.m. on the way to church the boy's beaver toys stopped for a little snack.
After church and lunch at LaMad we went to the NationalPortraitGallery. It's the third oldest federal building in D.C. Construction began in 1836. (Thirty one years before Canada became a country.)

We gave M some quiet time on Saturday. We went and tried out some toys.
