It has come to light that our dear boy has two distinct personalities.
The first, DrA-Man, is fun, rowdy, goofy, active and chatty.
The second, MrA, is reserved, quite, low key....stand off-ish even.
The main difference seems to be whether he is alone or with his brother (or another close friend).
Alone, he won't attempt to engage with kids he doesn't know.
For example, each week at Beaver's he does all the activities and games without speaking a word to anyone. (Unless a leader directly asks him a question.)
He has had the benefit of his super social brother to grease the wheels for him in public. This year they are (deliberately) in seperate groups at our weekly co-op. Also, E will be doing a program on Fridays (9-2:30) without A. I am going to seek out a Friday play activity with kids his age to put him in the situation to stretch his social muscles.
