Happy Easter

Well Easter is almost upon us. We had a lazy day today in preparation for tomorrow's Easter fun. Here's some pics of the day. Granny spent the night last night so M and I could go out to a wedding reception. We even got dressed up, too bad there's no photos of that.

After dinner we coloured eggs. Unfortunately there are no pictures of that either as it was all we could do to keep the eggs and the colouring dye on the table. But here's a picture right before we got started.

Then M took the boys up for their bath. I could hear them from the hallway and shot this video. It cracks me up!!!!

End of Day White Shirt

Well this is the white shirt at the end of the day. The arrows indicate spots where there are stains. Considering he was wearing bib overalls and a bib at every meal...........Stains include such things as orange juice, chocolate, gravy, and contact with every dirty surface at the gymnastics centre, Wal-mart and our house. How do people get their kids through their day with white shirts and always look so cute?

It's 9:35a.m. I haven't emptied the diswasher, I have two loads of laundry to fold and the three of us are all in our pyjamas still.(My therapist would be so proud)
However, I have made a pretty cool snow covered pillow mountain. And torn up a roll of paper towel to be snow for the trains on the track.

The White Shirt

So I am rarely brave enough to put a white shirt on either of my boys but today I thought I would take the step. This is the 'before' picture. I will be taking another picture at the end of the day and see how it turned out. I'll keep you posted.

A Wonderful Wonderful Day

Well we were all hanging out in front of the house hula-hooping when we decided to go for a drive.
We went to a local park and the kids had a blast.
M was roughhousing with the kids and they loved it.

Then we went to the choclte factory....yummy!!!!! The kids were thrilled to see how the treats were made. You can see by the looks on their faces on the drive home how much fun they(and we) had.

You'd think that would have tuckered us all out. But the Brftintheburbs part of this clan played a little longer out in front of the house, went for a walk and flew our kite in the park. I wish I had had my camera when E was running across the park with that kite flying high in the air. It was beautiful to see.
But then we really were exhausted and the boys crashed and we are soon to follow. What a great day.

The week is almost over.....

Well we had a sighting of our friendly neighbourhood bunny this week. We have named him Bun-Bun and put out carrots and celery for him regularly.
E with his friend I at the park this afternoon. A was there too as was R and K but are not pictured.

I have been getting NOTHING done here at the house because now that the weather is nice we are spending all our time outside. It was 8 degrees here this afternoon :-)

It's all I can do to get them to get dressed and eat before going outside to play. I am right along side them and would prefer to spend all our time outside. I'm not sure when I'll do all the cleaning and the laundry and the cooking......I guess there's always the winter for all that! The house of course won't be getting as dirty because we'll never be in it!! Poor M is frustrated because he can't get ahold of us when we are outside all day. Yahoo spring is here....summer is coming and then there's glorious fall after that!!!!!

Update

E(and M) were very excited to get a model train today. They set it up and played all afternoon. It goes forwards, backwards, fast and slow. Wow!!

'Tis the Season

'Tis the season for the spring/summer activities to begin. It can not come soon enough for me and the boys. We like to be outside ALL the time. Today E asked to break out his bike and take it for a ride.(He wanted to try his big boy bike and did very well.) A was in the garage pouting because he didn't want to ride the little boy bike.......

Questions Answered

Sometimes I ask myself questions about the boys. Serious questions like, "Why do they stick their feet in my face for no reason in the middle of an otherwise 'no-foot needed' moment?" Or, "What makes them laugh after they burp?"

Then today I saw a possible reason why.......their father. As some of you know M is home from work this week on leave. So he is down here playing with the kids while I am doing the budget and computer banking. I glance over and see M, for no apparent reason, throw a pair of E's stinky socks onto his arm while he's playing trains. I had at that moment an ah-hah! moment. It's hereditary!!!!!

Sadly I find that as time goes by I find conversations between like the following between E and M amusing.

E: Daddy you're a stinky butt.

M: You have a stinky butt?

E: NO!!!! You are a stinky butt.

M: Well why didn't you say your butt was stinky?

E: My butt isn't stinky. You are a stinky butt!!!

M: It's o.k. to have a stinky butt E. I will go get you a diaper and some wipes.

E: NNNNOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAUUUUUGGGGGHHHHH

M: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I was reminded of a story

So this week our dear train Dgls went missing. Oh how dear E was concerned. Everyday we looked for Dgls. He played with his other trains but asked every night if Dgls had been found. And then lo and behold we found our train. He was in the wagon in the garage. A had taken him out for a week last week and had forgotten him in the storage bin. Whew! E was so happy. It made me think of this story.

If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go in search of the one that went astray? 13 And if he finds it, truly, I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that never went astray. 14 So it is not the will of my Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish. Morning Skate

We went to the Npn Sprtsplx to skate this morning. A hitched a ride around the ice in the stroller. E was all over the place with his skate pusher. Forwards, backwards, even trying taking off without his pusher. I can't believe how much better he's gotten this year. However, you won't find any pics of my little skaters in this post. Because.......little K and her mommy came with us and I ended up taking pics only of her. Oops. Notice the rosy cheeks in the after-skating photo.

Wednesday-Fultn Sugr Bsh

Well we decided to brave the wet but warm weather and head out to Fultn Sugr Bsh with E's friend I and his sister and mom.

We followed their vehicle out to the location.

Then E helped me pull A through the slushy snow.












All the boys loved their pancakes with fresh syrup.

We ended the day with a ride on the horse drawn sleigh.

The Beans

Our bean project is finished. We started out by picking out beans from our bean soup, then we out them in a bag with some water and a paper towel. After they sprouted roots we planted them in a pot. They grew so FAST. Every morning they were bigger and bigger. It seemed they even grew noticeably from breakfast to dinner. Now we are not sure what to do with them. E wants to put them outside so they will grow up up up and we can climb the beanstalks to the sky. Hmmm...that's an idea.

Monday morning

Well we received a super package from Grandma Drdre today with stuff for St.Ptrcks Day. I will post pics of the decorations when they are up. The boys had a blast unpacking the box in the garage.


















Earlier in the day I made a map of Sdr Island for the basement wall. A helped me put the train tracks on.

We celebrated the day after my bday as Michael and I are part of a prayer group that meets on Friday nights.

House Day

Here are pics of the two boys at the same age. I measured A on the wall downstairs today and he is shorter than E was at the same age.

Snow Day

Well we had plans to go skating this a.m. but there is a snow warning so we decided to stay in.

E made a yummy berry cobbler for us to snack on this afternoon. He did all the work himself I just told him how much of each ingredient. Can't wait to try it.

Poor little A fell asleep after two minutes of watching Bb the Bldr. This is the first time he's ever fallen asleep at home not in his crib. I guess I should have put him down for a nap a little earlier. oops.
