Today was field trip day. The National Building Museum was beautiful and full of historical significance. Twelve presidents, from Grover Cleveland to George W. Bush have held their inaugration balls there.
E was in a class called City By Design
A was in a class called Patterns Everywhere.
And we stopped for lunch on the way back to the van after class.
My two guys put the dishes away for me on Saturday morning...who knew? I saw this great tree on our walk to church this morning. After the services there was a lunch for families.
And there were games.
And the boys were very happy with their egg hunt loot.
Today there were two more competitions. The first was form and the second was sparring.
So how did they do?? E received a Gold medal for form and Silver medal for sparring. A received a Gold medal for form and a Silver medal for sparring. It was really great today that they were in different divisions so they didn't have to compete against each other.
Tonight was the first part of their TKD tournament. They did weapons competition tonight. I was nervous for them before they went up but they weren't.
This is A after getting his medal. And this is E when he received his GOLDmedal. That's right GOLD. I am so freakin' proud of my kids.....not just because A, at almost five years old, stood in front of a whole crowd of people and performed, and not just because E's extra practices paid off and he won the gold medal...but because they said 'good job' to every other competitor they saw....and because E NEVER mentioned his gold medal because he didn't want to hurt anyone else's feelings.....and because they both went out of their way to make other competitors feel better when they were sad...... Their favourite part of the night was watching the black belts compete. WOW!!! The black belts were nice enough to get a group pic. And did I mention that they are smart too!?!?!?!?!
A made a sign that says....no jumping on the couch. And just for the sake of a great photo....the boys thought this was the best..especially because it took so many takes to get the right photo.
This is a great pic of E in the back of the van that A took.
And the piece de resistance....'Signs of Spring'...mostly by A but parts by me and E.
