Bears & Baby

Beautiful weather for this year's 'Move Your Paws for the Polar Bear Cause'.

Any reason to spend time at the zoo is good for us.
Congratulations Participants.

And since we were already two thirds of the distance .....
we went the rest of the way to meet our new family member.
She's amazing. Makes little noises like a kitten.

It seems when we visit that the kids always seem to group around UncleJ.
What's that all about?
K had me mesmerized with those eyes of his.
And V is getting to be a lot like a big kid.

So sweet of everyone to surprise M with a birthday cake.
We had all this fun in one weekend ... and still made it back into town before the weather turned bad.
And thanks to Hunter's owners .... Charlie had a weekend in the country instead of a weekend in the car.
Thanks guys.

Canada From Space

A group of parents west of the city arranged to borrow a great resource from Canadian Geographic (see info. here) and run a workshop.
Luckily, we were able to stay overnight at Granny&Grandad's between the two days.

Mix, Blend, Bake

The cooking unit is coming along nicely.
Last week A melted & mixed us some rice krispie squares.
He creamed, chilled & baked some cookies.

And tonight, with the help of a friend, he rolled puff pastry and filled it with delicious chicken and veggies.
And FYI, the dog is still adorable.

Proof

Thought I'd put some proof on here that this guy still lives here.

And now back to our regularly scheduled programming .....
We are working on a cooking/baking unit. Every cook needs their own wooden spoon.
I encouraged A to use the kit he got for Christmas to make his new spoon his own.

Friday Wrap-Up

In addition to our school work this week he skated, he cooked, he swam, he played hockey .....

Friday while we're out doing a little second hand store shopping I get this text from M....

"Surprise inspection by the principal this morning and there seems to be two very important pieces missing from this class. Can you tell what they are?"
Oops.....teehee.

Swish

Winter is proving to be an elusive season.
There hasn't been much time to get in the standard 'Winter in OTown Activities'.

On Friday we seized the day and went for an outdoor skate at Grandad's office during his lunch break.
Thanks for meeting us Grandad.

This whole weekend was blissfully quiet of activities.
All the more reason to make some sushi and settle in for a family movie night.
