Create

It's interesting to see how the boys express themselves creatively. As they are responsible for making their own breakfasts in the morning A has taken to getting quite artsy with his fruit plate.
For E, it's usually a LEGO creation that is his artistic outlet.
(See his page for more pics of this creation.)
They continue to work on their projects.
Today A applied the grass texture. Next step .... add the paint.
I'll add pics of E's post haste.

You Thought What?

While A had his parents at camp E had the world at his fingertips.
He spent one night at his cousin's house. They jumped, they LEGOed, they skated and AuntieJnn made sure he arrived at his Saturday rehearsal.
And he also spent a night with Grnny and Grndad. They took him for his favourite dinner and loved him up before taking to his Sunday rehearsal.

Beaver Camp

Tents were set up in quick time .....

... and we were welcomed to camp.
First things first ..... food! Banana dessert and hotdogs.

It wasn't overly strenuous but we did get a little hike in.
And if you get lost in the woods, "What are you supposed to do?" Hug a tree.
Time was made for some games.
They stuck together for campfire and through breakfast the next day.
But as time grew short there was just time for chapel and gathering their ashes from the fire before we left to get back to the city. Good times.

Create Create

For a geography class E needs to 'invent' an island.
There will be a physical product and also a written portion.
Instead of paper mache we are using a paper and tape method. (I've never done this before so I hope the kids can figure out how to get it done.)
It seemed to make sense for A to have a hand at this also. At first I suggested he do a water cycle project but his interests are leaning towards the Medieval these days.
So he's going to create a battle scene.

Spring?

Gee ... ya' think he wants cantelope for breakfast?
All week E has been battling a low fever and a nagging cough.
He made it through almost all of his commitments this week, only missing choir.
After dropping E off at his class on Friday we picked up a friend of A's for some play time.
Then since the weather seemed to have finally decided to cooperate and become Spring-like ... the kids went outside to play.

When A plays any game .... he plays to win. He goes so hard and for so long.
Luckily he isn't a sore loser so it's still fun to play with him.
Despite feeling crummy E also went out to get some fresh air. I think he might ask for a scooter for his birthday this year. He is always borrowing our neighbour's.
Going now to upload more LEGO creations by E on his page.

Fab Day

Thanks to another homeschooler mom who did all the organizing we had the chance to see a very special show at the museum today.
Girls Night Out tonight.
We went to a restaurant opening .... and the food was sublime.

And I'm not just saying that because the lady I was out with is the chef/co-owner's wife.
The sushi was amazing and so insanely flavorful. We had steak and miso salmon. Oh my. So full of such delicious food.

-Sigh-

At last ..... outside play weather. Big sigh of relief.
He was like a puppy who hasn't been out for a walk in a long time.
It's a good thing there was a neighbour friend to play with because this guy isn't feeling well today.

Ack

Hello.....my name is J....and I am an enabler.
I realize that by purchasing/allowing the tablet and the ipad and the wii and the laptops I have aided and abetted in their current obsession with electronics.
But it was a very slippery slope my friends.
I will be helping them to exercise more self control over this in the next little while.

I am going to be starting a new 'tab' at the top of this page for E's creations. Pictures will henceforth be taken and added. Please check in there to see what he's been creating.

Go Team

Thanks to some free tickets we saw a great game Monday night.
When the boys saw this huge flag unfurled they could hardly wait for it to make it around to our side of the arena.

Progress has been made on the basement.
The built-in still needs to be trimmed and have the new shelves installed.
And of course we've been painting.
Before
Now ... not done yet!
And painting. Still to be installed are the new plugs and light switch in white.
This side of the room is still a major work in progress.
