Back on the Blog

--Sorry about the delay in blogging. My laptop keyboard crashed and burned and it took me a while to get back functional.--

We had our final class of our Thursday morning co-op.
This is E doing his group presentation of bridges.

And on our Fridays A and I enjoy 'hanging out' with the birds.

We have hung a large clock in our diningroom. Two of the clocks are set to our local time, one regular and one in 24hour time.
The clock on the right top is set to Grampy time.
And the clock on the top left is set to Grandma-Grandpa-Nana time.
This way the boys always know what time it is before they make a phone call!

Lost Message?

There is a desk in the livingroom that holds our wii.
I have asked them to please put the controllers back in the drawer and to close it when they are done.
I even went so far as to make a sign to remind them to close the door!
They don't ever close the door. These time lapse photos show one day.
Keep in mind that after each picture I closed the door...only to find it open again later.
This is what a bathroom looks like that was supposed to be worked on but didn't. And why you ask?
Because the special order floor we ordered came in the wrong size. Ack!

E's FieldTrip

Today E went on a field trip to the BioDome with his Cub pack......
and his camera....
He asked if I would upload the pictures for him.
However, it turns out there were more than 75 pictures!!
I've uploaded a sampling of them and you'll just have to trust me that you aren't missing anything critical.
I noticed when going through them that he has a bit of a camera focus issue.
Either he doesn't know how to use the focus or he doesn't stay still long enough to capture the pic.
Some of his field trip buddies.
And this is what A and I were up to while the big guys were working on the bathroom.

Sneak Snap

I like sneaking up on the boys while they are at co-op and taking pics of them learning.
Here's A working with his group. Oops, he caught me.
At home I can never sneak up on them. E has been working on an assignment for his Chemistry class that is due tomorrow.
A loves getting done before his brother so he can get a few extra minutes of computer time.
Lots of fun today making a fort with all the kids after school.

M Cubed

I live with 3 of the same person. There's my husband M and his two clones.
At dinner tonight it was noticed that they all were wearing white shirts.
I guess this makes me triple blessed.

You take the good you take the bad

There are many advantages to home schooling. One is that if you get a little behind you can take the time needed to catch up. We've been having way too much fun during the week so today after church we got down to busines.
Nothing helps school go by like a furry friend.
E's guinea pig is shameless in it's need for love and cuddles.

Being Productive

I wandered through E's class on Thursday at our co-op and caught him during his Forensics lesson. ( Why is he wearing gloves on his feet though? )
Friday afternoon he started his hockey fundamentals class.

And with M at the photography show and the kids playing with the neighbour I made myself useful.
I cleaned out the sports closet(right) and the school shelves(left).

....the sacrifice he is willing to make.

Another Week Bites the Dust

Another week of study and play has come and gone.
And now to the weekend. First thing on the agenda.....Friday night sleepover for this guy.
It's his first non-family sleepover, though M is going with him.
You can see he seems to be alright with it.
You know those darn homeschooled kids....so coddled and cosseted by their parents....they never get out of the house to have any adventures.....NOT!!!   teehee

Sharing Sharing Sharing

When planning for the boys I try to cover the same topics but with different aims and expectations. Obviously with E in grade 4 he will be required to do more and look more in-depth into topics.
So within our geometry unit A was to be studying flips, slides and turns. E was to be doing symmtery (for today--grouping letters of the alphabet to 'no symmetry, one line of symmetry, or two lines of symmetry) and then exploring rotational symmetry.
But as always, one starts peeking over at what the other is doing.
I set E up on the computer to create art using rotational symmetry and A up with some shapes to create pictures. But in the end everyone has a turn at a little bit of everything.

And we can confirm that Christmas is in fact 49 days away....A counted.
E has his list already up on the fridge, A is still working on his.
