What's New

It's hard to see in that first pic but A got a present from Grnny. An N-sclae camping set for his train track. E's arrived the next day....a gravel car!! The second pic is of A holding up a pic he drew for Nana...we will mail it on Tuesday. He has become quite the artist lately.

This is A singing his 'ABC's'. As many of you know I was more than a little nervous about the fact that he hadn't learned this yet...but all it took was a SesmeStreet video in the van everytime we traveled and he picked it right up.......(And yes..he does say 'Amen' at the end of the song...he thinks everything ends with 'Amen')

It Might Be Hard to Believe

Somehow after four days of visiting we managed to get almost NO pics of our visitors. We all had a great visit though and the kids were sad to see them leave this morning. We spent three and a half hours at the zoo yesterday and still we didn't get to see it all. I did get some good pics of animals we hadn't visited before.
This spider(orb weaving spider) is at the zoo but is NOT behind glass. Apparently they have poor eyesight so they don't ever leave their webs.......hm.
This is a pic of the wives matching flip-flops. What are the chances that we would have the exact same flip-flops?

Gone Fishin'

We went down to the end of the dock and tried out some corn on the boys hooks. They each caught a fish. Thanks GrndpaTrry for walking mommy through the bob and hook process.

They each found the perfect spot and dropped their lines in.

E was the first to reel one in and not long after A dragged his to shore.

We sat down to draw our fishing experience and E drew a great fish on the line. A however was a little tired out from his day and didn't finish his picture.

At Long Last

So we tried to fill our time before our next guests arrived. The boys and I spent a lot of time outside and we went swimming etc. etc.

We even went to another train show with our little engineers. (Yes that is a bag of purchases on the seat between them.) Our N-scale track is coming along.

But nothing could distract us from our enthusiastic expectation of our next guests---UnclJasn and AunteLiz-----And now they're here!!!!!

We went down to the waterfront before dinner and A was absorbed by a puppet show on in the gazebo. I love the pic of his face while he's watching....totally fascinated.

Both of the boys got to hold a parrot---I'm sure we will have lots more fun in the next week so I'll keep you all posted.

I Remember

I remember when E went through this type of play stage. A now needs a range of carefully selected toys to play the games that he thinks up in his head. This picture tells the story. He invited me to go on a train ride with him.......this is the scene. He's using: a grocery cart, toilet paper rolls, three stuffed animals, a Thomas magazine, his blankie, two finger puppet monsters, a bible, a couple of toy cars and a metronome(set to tick 56 beats per second).

Family Time

We crossed the street to play in the volleyball sand and we made a sand sea turtle.

On Snday we went for a 14 mile bike ride. The half way mark had a cool fountain so we took a good break.

Daddy caught the boys looking at the water together but then they spotted him.
Me and the boys. A had brought along his computer to play in the bike trailer.
E really liked this plane statue. And then we set up the self timer and took a family photo.
