Field Trip Day

Today was field trip day. The National Building Museum was beautiful and full of historical significance. Twelve presidents, from Grover Cleveland to George W. Bush have held their inaugration balls there.

E was in a class called City By Design

A was in a class called Patterns Everywhere.
And we stopped for lunch on the way back to the van after class.

Messy Messy

After a morning of rain the boys were wanting to move around a bit. Bikes sounded good.

The roads weren't quite dry yet though.
And neither was the volleyball court.......and those puddles looked very interesting.

Maybe they'll go in just a little bit.....
.....and a little bit more....
.....might as well have a little jump....

....and see what that wet sand feels like......
....might as well do a little dance.....

....and make a little mud.

Stuff

My two guys put the dishes away for me on Saturday morning...who knew?

I saw this great tree on our walk to church this morning.

After the services there was a lunch for families.

And there were games.
And the boys were very happy with their egg hunt loot.

Tournament Day Two

Today there were two more competitions. The first was form and the second was sparring.

So how did they do?? E received a Gold medal for form and Silver medal for sparring. A received a Gold medal for form and a Silver medal for sparring. It was really great today that they were in different divisions so they didn't have to compete against each other.
Videos to follow tomorrow.

The Tournament Starts

Tonight was the first part of their TKD tournament. They did weapons competition tonight. I was nervous for them before they went up but they weren't.

This is A after getting his medal.

And this is E when he received his GOLD medal. That's right GOLD.

I am so freakin' proud of my kids.....not just because A, at almost five years old, stood in front of a whole crowd of people and performed, and not just because E's extra practices paid off and he won the gold medal...but because they said 'good job' to every other competitor they saw....and because E NEVER mentioned his gold medal because he didn't want to hurt anyone else's feelings.....and because they both went out of their way to make other competitors feel better when they were sad......

Their favourite part of the night was watching the black belts compete. WOW!!!

The black belts were nice enough to get a group pic.

And did I mention that they are smart too!?!?!?!?!

GoodDay

Well the countdown has started.....Easter is on the way.
The boys love to open their story eggs.

Does this kid look like he's ready to take on the day or what?

And here's a good lookin' kid......he's so handsome.
This is the class that E is in during our Co-Op program.
E and I have been learning to play the piano with a cd program. This is the song E is working on right now.

Back on the Blog......whew

Doing a little work today.

A made a sign that says....no jumping on the couch.

And just for the sake of a great photo....the boys thought this was the best..especially because it took so many takes to get the right photo.
This is a great pic of E in the back of the van that A took.
And the piece de resistance....'Signs of Spring'...mostly by A but parts by me and E.

Success--(As long as I upload from the back room)

Here's the boys doing their edit board on Friday.

Goofball.

I love the look of seriousness on A's face.

Just a cute pic of A.

First day on the attach-a-bike.

The other boys on their bikes.

We asked a lady walking by to snap a family pic of us on our bikes.
