Boo from VA

Here's my Marios ready to go.

And don't forget the other Mario.

Just a shot of the street....there were so many people there.

I liked this guy's look.

The Message

So I'll be changing the voice mail message. It's misleading. It makes it sound as if from 9-12 Mon. to Fri. we are sitting at the table doing school work. And that is the intent. But......sometimes it doesn't work out that way. Sometimes we have playdates in the a.m. and do school in the afternoon. (Like today. See photo.)
Sometimes we go bowling in the a.m. and do school in the afternoon.

On Wednesdays we have bible study so we don't do school work that day at all.
Sometimes M has the day off so we take the day off too.

I haven't quite worked out what the new message will be. Stand by. Any ideas??

Day in the Life

So it's all about getting the school done
and playing at the park

and repotting their plants and trying to grow green peppers like their cousinDrs

and baking some bread for snack
and cleaning up from the planting and the baking.

There is this game I have been playing with A. Every time one of us brushes our teeth we move the other person's toothbrush holder.
The problem is that I found my toothbrush stuck to the toilet lid last night. Yuck.

We went to the NationlHarbr yesterday for the afternoon.

I just love close-ups of my cuties.

We went to a Thai restaurant for lunch. We ordered a bunch of different foods and the boys tried everything.

They tried spring rolls, calamari, cashew chicken, pad thai and sticky rice.

The pad thai was the clear winner. Although A also loved the calamari.

Then we stopped by a friend's boat.

Ever since we sold ours we have been missing the water.

Review

Here's the boys working on their devotional activity this a.m.

They were to take 12 stones and build a memorial for things they were thankful G-d had done for them.

In the same way that Joshua had the Israelites pile stones after crossing the Jordan.

It was fun to hear the things they were thankful for.

Oh ya, Sunday we went to the boat show.

There were many many boats.

M was very happy....and yes...that is his happy face.

I had warned M that the kids wouldn't have much stamina for boat tours but it was I who ran out of steam first.

Militia Muster

This place we were at today was very fun. And the actors/staff were fantastic.

They all took the time to really talk to the kids and show them stuff.

The kids were 'trained' for the militia.

They tried the pikes.

And they watched the reenactors in mock battle.

This is an example of the kind of vessel the settlements used for 'local' sailings.
We were able to go everywhere onboard.

Here's M at the captain's desk.

And A rockin' his suspenders on the beach.

M said a long good-bye to the ship.
There was a trial today. The man on the right stole a pig.
The boys tried out the 'old-school' discipline.

They even got to try out an early printing press.

Where oh where could A be?

He's with M in a native house as warm as can be.
This was a super fantastic day. Definitely suggest this outing to all.
