Make It

Today we had a special treat.
Ms. Alison from MakerJunior came to work with the kids on a project.
And the more the merrier .... so we had a few friends over.

I was super impressed with the creativity the kids showed. There was a snake, a hotdog, a sea creature, a zebra, a clam, a sea cucumber, two cubes, a dog and a cow. And each one had a voice recorder in it that they could use and reuse to their delight.
We had a lot of fun and managed to work in a little curriculum.
Arts- D1.1(grade1-4-visual arts) create two- and three-dimensional works of art that express feelings and ideas inspired by their interests and experiences -- D1.4(grade1-8-visual arts) use a variety of materials, tools, techniques, and technologies to determine solutions to design challenges .
Language Arts- 1.2(grade3thru7-oral communication) demonstrate an understanding of appropriate listening behaviour by adapting active listening strategies to suit a variety of situations, including work in groups -- 1.4(grade7-oral communication) demonstrate an understanding of the information and ideas in increasingly complex oral texts in a variety of ways(accurately carry out a procedure or follow instructions)

And since we were finished by 1p.m. we had time to squeeze in a little more work before the school day was done.
P.S. I love looking up and seeing this during the day.
