Big Day

It seemed like a day for an adventure. We keep saying how we are going to explore our area but we just haven't had the time.....today we seized the moment and off to Baltimore we went.
When we got there we saw a submarine and you can take a tour of it. So we did of course.

Standing on the deck of the sub. After which we went for lunch at Hrd RockCfe.
At the aqurium we saw a lot of different marine life. They were feeding this turtle lettuce.
The boys were fascinated by the dolphin show.
M and I thought they were pretty fantastic too!
I think M took a great photo of me and the boys.

Hello? Hello? Can You Hear Me Joe?

According to the phone company our wires have been crossed.....seriously. My phone number leads only to voice mail and to reach our house you have to call some stranger's number. They assure me that they can fix the problem and the technician will be here next Tuesday ...... seriously. SO....our phone is currently being forwarded to our cell phone in case of emergency. However, I can't make any long distance calls so don't expect to hear from me in the next couple of days. Sorry everybody.

Indctrination

I'm trying to be open minded here............Since E started school he has come home with all kinds of new information. For example, how wonderful Amrica is, how special Amrica is, how he never wants to leave Amrica. He sings songs about this land of the free and already knows how to spell it! Oh my....what to do
This is Grmpy and A at the museum on Tuesday.
A tickle fight about to get underway.
Now it's on.

It's Raining Men

A joined Grmpy on the computer this afternoon.

All the boys hung out on the couch while I finished dinner.

Silly Boys

The boys called me into the bathroom the other night and wanted me to watch them do a news report about the crashing of an aircraft carrier and it's subsequent rescue by Batmn. It was so cute I had to tape it. Picture edited for decency.

Guess Who's Here??

And we tried the BBBQ---YUMMY!!!!--M has requested that I plan 7 BBBQ meals for the next week, seriously

House Stuff

This is a house issue I haven't found a solution for yet. At the top of the stairs is a landing between the back play room and the front kitchen/livingroom. We come in the house at this level when we use the elevator from the garage and all our shoes tend to collect there. Can anyone think of an attractive way to store the shoes? Something in keeping with the house and the colour of the wood floors.

I decided that the guest bathroom needed something of a theme for our guests. So in keeping with our location I decided to transform it into the WhteHouse bathroom. Over the potty-pics of past presidents.

Some decorative photos of the sights to be seen. Whtehouse towels of course and also a pail of whtehouse toiletries.

Grow Up

We have always sat down for a family meal at the end of every day. My boys love sitting down to dinner and talking about their day and telling jokes and hanging out. Sounds great BUT they don't eat. They get so busy socializing that they don't eat. Then I spend the whole meal reminding them to take another bite....and another...and another.....etc!!! I would estimate that I remind them to eat twenty times during each dinner time.

Then the other night I was reading in Proverbs and came across this, "Lazy people take food in their hand but don't even lift it to their mouth" Proverbs 19:24

So we're now on a new meal plan here. They sit with us and we all eat and visit. If they forget to eat their food when they're at the table then they will shortly be hungry. As was the case last night after dinner and I suspect shortly after E arrived at school today. I am thinking that they are smart enough not to starve and will eventually add eating to the list of things they like to do at dinner time.

Landlubbers

Pre-lesson photo

The boys started swimming lessons this afternoon for the first time. They are in the same class and M and I both went to watch the first lesson. There were no cameras allowed in the pool area so you'll just have to take my word for it that the following is true.

4:05-class starts-teacher introduces herself
4:10-teacher says"Let's get in the water"-E starts to cry- A looks confused
4:15-boys get in water-E sobbing-A looks confused
4:25-after getting ears wet children are instructed to blow bubbles-E laughing-A sobbing
4:30-E laughing and smiling while splashing in water-A sobbing to the point of gagging
4:35-class is over-E skips off to changeroom-A drags his emotionally spent body and puffy eyes to the changeroom.

Post-Lesson Photo

Better luck next week.

Problem Solved

We have had trouble with the boys bringing their little stuffed animals along and then not wanting to carry them. So this morning I solved the problem. I had a general design idea and A helped me by suggesting that the animals needed somewhere to put their tails so I incorporated that.

BitsandBites

E is becoming quite the artist and has great attention to detail. This is A eating lunch on Friday. We played this game where he turned over numbers and I gave him that many pieces of what was offered for lunch. For example, he got 9 carrots and 2 graham crackers and 4 M'nMs and 3 peanuts. He loved it.

We had quite a rainy day on Sat so the boys took to the floor to draw.

The rainy day aftermath on the family room. This is A talking to Grnny.
P.S. We saw that new 3D movie about little flies that go to the moon. It was good, really good....no scary parts for my two. Although they ate WAY TOO MUCH popcorn.

Funny

This is A doing his ShowandTell during Mommyschool today. He didn't want to be filmed so I had to be sneaky and I think at the beginning he is trying to figure out whether I had left the camera on......hahahahahahaha

Mmmy School

I decided that this year I will keep A home from pre-school and have one year for just the two of us. Next year he will be in pre-k and then off to school so this is our last hurrah. I have to say he does like having mommy to himself. We are using some time each day to do some mommy school. We started during E's kindergarten orientation and have picked it up now that E's back to school. I have an abundance of materials so I just pull from those each day.

This is A posing with his letter 'I' inchworm craft--we later raced these around the table. And his cutting activity (from a Kumon book).

Then we did some shape work (from a fisher-prce workbook) and then story time. You'll notice he has a 'bat and ball' with him during story time. Well I came to discover while talking about diamond shapes that A did not know how baseball was played. (He asked me where the nets went in the game!) So we had an impromptu baseball game in the living room. He loved it!!
And of course later we played hockey in the living room.

For All the First Days Out There--(You Know Who You Are)

E started school this morning. It worked out well because the kids here are starting kindergarten for the first time so they don't have any peer groups yet.

A was a little disappointed to be left behind. He wants to start school too. He insisted on having a lunch box like his brother so he's going to carry his lunch around with him all day.
