Riddle Me This

Here's the question....it's soccer related.
The seven kids on my soccer team have been having a really fun season. They all think they are really doing well at learning the positions and every game they leave with smiles on their faces. Here's the thing....we haven't won a single game....we tied once but otherwise....no wins. Total points this season.....two(both scored by the same person). Sometimes we lose by quite a big margin. They don't seem to mind at all. They have never asked the score. Today after a particularly promising...though no scoring....game, one of them said to me that they thought they had won that game.
All would be fine except that the coaches of the other teams we play keep asking if I want them to pull one of their players, we play 4 on 4, so we have a better chance of scoring. When I decline, they are quite forceful in suggesting it would be best.
My reasoning for not doing it is that I don't want to draw attention to an issue that the kids haven't noticed yet!! (And potentially make them feel badly for not scoring.)
We have one more game day left....next Wednesday. Should I leave them to play how they have been or should I ask them to pull a player so we can score?

I would let them play as they have all year. Sports at this age is about the love of the game and good sportsmanship, which it sounds is what you have instilled in your team. Congratulations to an amazing coach.

Let them play as they have been. They are having fun and learning the game and to me that is the most important thing!

They already sound like winners to me. When they can always leave the field smiling then that says it is not about the win as much as it is about being together as a team and doing their best. I would say don't change a thing.

Hi Coach

You are providing the kids the most important part of the sport "Fun". Its not about winning or losing. If the kids are enjoying the game, learning new skills and making new friends what does a score matter. They will never remember the score of any of the games.
Congratulations Coach on a successful Fun soccer season.
