The best thing about three day weekends is having an extra day to spend together. Today we went to the National Art Gallery. We had been to see the vanGogh exhibit already but wanted to see the other areas. The view from the main area is spectacular.
We took a break in the pool courtyard and threw some coins in the water.
The abstract art was very interesting to discuss with them.
Here they are behind No.29, 1950, by Jackson Pollock.
Paranoid, 1956 by Claude Tousignant was a topic of discussion.
Is it art? Does it have meaning? Is it really worth the money people pay for it? Where do they come up with the titles?
E liked this one. Hurdle for Art Lovers by Greg Curnoe.
They also liked the art that had people/objects in them that had a story behind it.
Blind Leading the Blind by William Kurelek was a fave.
In the garden court they had a sculpture that could be moved around. Fun!!
We collaborated on an idea before leaving. We have titled this EA.
Can you guess the meaning behind our placement of the sculpture's bars?

I love all the art photos on your blog today. I am wondering if the placement of the sculpture has anything to do with your heights?
You went to an Art Gallery! YAHHHHH!

Erin,
You went on a computer! haha. BTW, we are members at the gallery. You can get in for free if you come visit.

Wow...great pictures and so many. Loved them all from movie night, to boating/swimming to the art gallery....fantastic. Life is always busy and very interesting at the Barefoot's. Can't wait to get there.
Love to all...mom/nana
My guess to the different placement of the bars is to mark their different heights!
